The movie that changed Matthew McConaughey carrer, after a break in his carrer he decided to stop making romcoms and start making different types of movies, I guess it worked out just fine.

Matthew McConaughey is the definition of charisma and he deliveres a wonderful and very intense performance. Really good ing cast with some big names like Bryan Cranston who only has a small participation, wish he had a little more screen time and interactions with McConaughey, they were…

Red Sparrow

2018

★★½ Watched

It's a slow paced spy movie, that starts to get interesting after 1 hour, maybe a bit more, the film is clearly too long for what they really had to show.

The movie is very generic, full of stuff everyone already saw in hundreds of better spy movies, with a lot of unnecessary extra violent and graphic scenes, and the film relies too much on that, trying to impact the audience.

Jennifer Lawrence performance stands out from everyone obviously, and she delivers a really strong performance, completely carried the film.

Brian De Palma's direction is outstanding, the way he works with suspense and tension is something special and he is the reason why this movie is so memorable. Sissy Spacek performance as Carrie is absolutely brilliant and it was fun to see a young John Travolta with little screetime, and also a very good score, sometimes using the "Psycho"…
