Wait so did Akira Kurosawa invent medical soap operas or something? Dr. Noboru Yasumoto walked so Dr. Meredith Grey could waddle. 

Unfortunately movies being 3 hours isn’t always an indicator of actual character development, but Red Beard is a shining example of getting to watch just that. Would recommend to any film bros because it’s Kurosawa but also to medical students, particularly those interested in family and community medicine. Also a good watch for its humanist values.
