The moment Jon M. Chu was announced as the director of this movie, I had faith that it was going to be good. My attachment to the show isn’t super strong, since it’s been nearly two decades since I saw it on stage. So as someone who wasn’t obsessed with Wicked growing up, only listening to the soundtrack here and there, the movie immediately drew me in from the first scene, especially when No One Mourns the Wicked begins.

Easily the weakest of the franchise, but still some great action moments despite how repetitive it could get. None of the action has been to the level of the main series besides one or two stunts. The revenge story is pretty basic, but Ana De Armas is fantastic.
