The Lighthouse is out and it’s time to spill yer beans… we want your top ten monochromatic feature films, whether they were made before color film was readily available, or made in color’s aftermath as an aesthetic choice (we’ll also accept color films that were released in black-and-chrome later). In a world of roto-scoping and facial de-aging and 60fps, it’s a high contrast when a director throws back to simpler, monochromatic times. Yes, a film is allowed if it features a story-enhancing burst of conscious color. So take control, go fish, and bring your choices out of the shadows.
