A strange watch.
The story is tight enough and I enjoyed it just fine. Hell, I probably would have loved it as a kid. My niece sure did. The parade of Disney characters would have seemed unbelievable, in a Roger Rabbit kind of way. Hell, I beamed when I heard Mulan speak. Nostalgia overfloweth…but the constant internet brand placement just feels oppressively gross, in a way that that the arcade-game cameos of the original never did. I don’t know if that’s fair, but that’s how it felt.
When it comes to kids movies, just give me War Games era internet and stop there please.
