YIBR Scavenger Hunt 2025 - Movie that looks like it's so bad it's good

Things I discovered while watching this movie:

- I need to have a birthday party at McDonald's in 1988.

- High Fructose Corn Syrup in Coca Cola products is the exact substance alien lifeforms drink to survive.

- My sleep paralysis demon is Mac wearing the bear suit.

- Mac and Me has more impressive stunt/demolitions work than most MCU films nowadays.

- I looked everywhere…

An overall pretty solid animated anthology showcasing different Predators fighting humans on Earth throughout the ages. Each part is roughly 20 minutes, and they're action packed stories that give you one or two emotional hook scenes to keep you invested.

The violence and fight choreography is amazing. The first story felt especially brutal. The animation style takes some ideas from Spiderverse and Arcane, and while it takes a minute to adjust to the frame rate I think it really works…

This may be my favorite film from this director. It's sad and unfortunate how much of this movie feels ever more poignant and on the nose. It's a film about the trans experience and rampant transphobia rotting people from the inside out as a parasitic brain worm. Despite the shlocky b movie camp value of the the concept, something similar has taken hold over these last 4 years to an extreme degree.

Men is generational toxic masculinity meets cosmic horror. The first thing you need to do is check your expectations at the door with this film. It offers way more questions than answers, which can be understandably frustrating. I do think it allows you to draw your own conclusions however, which I personally preferred in this instance as any answers given to me would not be as satisfying as my own.
