As far as book to film adaptations, this was stellar. I wouldn’t have predicted that Matthew Lillard and Mike Flanagan would team up for a Stephen King adaptation that was a speculative fiction drama and NOT a horror film. Stacked cast that was bested by Mark Hamill and an unknown child actor that is too perfectly cast as a young Jacob Tremblay/Tom Hiddleston.

Had to watch after reading The Seven Year Slip

The Notebook but country.

Zombie movies can be formulaic but goddamn this was well-done. The acting was excellent with the character building and arcs being simple yet poignant. A few images and moments will stay with me. Lives up to the hype.
