The social messages this deftly delivers, and its merciless lampooning of middle class cluelessness of the social issues right under it's nose, elevate this above the Doctor Who-level production values and concept.

In truth, the sci-fi elements are pretty thinly conceptualised and a bit unsatisfying. But besides the social stuff, this has a really original plot progression, especially in regard to the characters and how they interact to drive that forward.
