Ballerina

★★★ Liked Watched

Ready for some high-octane action? Ballerina may not reach the adrenaline heights of John Wick, but it definitely scratches that itch.

Ana de Armas shines in the lead tough, focused, and absolutely commanding on screen.

The plot though It’s a bit thin and familiar but let’s be honest you’re not here for deep storytelling. You’re here for killer choreography, flamethrower shotguns (yes, really) and stylish world-building.

What this film does well is expand the John Wick universe more cults, more…

Clown in a Cornfield

2025

★★★½ Liked Watched

If there’s one slasher you need to check out in 2025, Its this! and No it’s not here to reinvent the genre but damn, it’s a refreshing, bloody good time.

It’s bold, it’s funny, the cast is great and there are a couple of twists that genuinely caught me off guard (and had me laughing harder than expected). The kills? Solid, though I wouldn’t have minded a bit more gore or creativity.

The film knows exactly what it is and…

Bring Her Back

★★★★ Liked Rewatched

Your looking at the horror movie of the year not because it’s packed with jump scares, but because it gets under your skin in all the right (and wrong) ways. It’s unsettling, gory, and deeply uncomfortable like the kind of horror that makes you squirm and look away.

The Philippou brothers knock this one out of the park. From eerie rituals to disturbingly real makeup work, this is pure horror from start to finish. But what elevates it beyond just…

Beating Hearts

★★★★ Liked Watched

A gritty, aching love story that starts with a bang literally! and ends in the most unexpected,

What feels like a familiar “bad boy meets good girl” setup quickly evolves into something deeper, more tragic, and more beautiful.

The opening scene, all shadows and silhouettes during a gang standoff, is stunningly shot and sets the tone perfectly. Clotaire and Jackie’s romance is raw and real, shaped by class, loss, and bad timing with a surprise Cure-backed dance sequence that somehow works perfectly!

It’s 160 minutes, but worth every second. Bittersweet, stylish, and full of heart.

This film is the definition of “so bad it’s good.”

Every rewatch leaves me laughing and asking “WTF?” at nearly every scene. Honestly this movie belongs in the comedy section.

It’s a perfect storm of bad acting, a nonsensical story, cringe-worthy directing, questionable editing, awkwardly repeated scenes, and of course the iconic photo frames with spoons and forks. It’s the kind of cinematic disaster you can’t look away from.

I highly recommend this to any movie lover who wants to see where the bar for “bad movies” truly sits right next to Sony’s Madame Web.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man

2024

★½ 2

Have you ever watched a movie that made you instantly want to revisit another one? That’s exactly how I felt after watching Hellboy: The Crooked Man. This film left me longing to go back and watch the Ron Perlman Hellboy films, wishing they had completed that trilogy.

Compared to the previous reboot, Hellboy: The Crooked Man operates on a smaller budget, which isn’t necessarily a disadvantage. While it may lack a truly menacing villain and cutting-edge CGI, it compensates with…
