This doesn’t feel like any Captain America story before it. And not in a good way.

I’m really digging these newer black mirror episodes not being so clinically depressing in their endings. 

But man I don’t think I could’ve handled that twist and realisation half as well as the protagonist did.

There are scenes here that will stick with me for a very long time.

They couldn’t have picked a more drama-filled video game behind-the-scenes pipeline nightmare to recount as a documentary. 

The crunch and politics for everyone involved whilst not unheard of in this industry (and many others), gives you a lot to think about. I feel like they could’ve gone harder and explored more with certain story beats though. Some of the personal drama for the creators of this game in the midst of the fan backlash and critical reception could be its own documentary.

Loneliness and lack of purpose are so brutal in Coppola’s pacing and still shots.

House of Cards: Vatican Style. I always knew Ralph Fiennes was destined to play a house majority whip of a priest trying to elect the next Pope.

The late Holy Father should’ve done a degree in project management though.

Why does everyone in this town talk like they’re in a Samuel Beckett play?

Felt like we barely scraped the surface of his American pop culture collection.

If that cat meowed even once during those pivotal suspense moments, it would’ve been all over.

This movie missed out on so much world building opportunities on how the world’s governments and societies would’ve tried to fight back and adapt to this alien nightmare.

Is there nothing Florence Pugh can’t do?

RIP Gene Hackman! 

You can definitely see so many influences came from this movie and it’s technically quite solid i.e camera work, editing etc etc. I just found the characters more on the two-dimensional side even if I get the obsession Hackman’s character presents to everyone around him. The action setpieces were great but it all felt a bit bloated. Revolutionary for its time but aged a fair bit in the modern day.
