A Wake in Fright-inspired sun-baked fever dream. Nic Cage is having a Very Bad couple of days. He’s fed up. Ozploitation is back?

Really awesome vigilante revenge flick! Gritty, scummy, lo-fi New York City action. Super violent with lots of insane energy and action full of bloody effects and shootout squibs! Released in 1997 but feels like a slice of the 1980s. Why does it seem like directors of movies as good as this one never got to make another one again???
Rob Zombie did a hangout movie guys.
Honestly…this is a totally delightful movie. It’s washed in color and detail. I love the campy Transylvania village with its acid-washed Bava-esque neon lighting dominating every frame.
I’ve never seen The Munsters - so I don’t know much about them or have any connection to the show - but it does seem clear that Rob is making this in total iration to the show.
Comedy-wise, I got a few chuckles out of this…
