This movie really encapsulated desperation. The main character seems so out-of-touch with others -- what they want, need, what they think of him -- and, consequently, makes a lot of mistakes when trying to connect. When he befriends Rudd's character, it seems like the first time in a long time he's really connected with anyone. There's quite a few funny moments, but a lot more cringey moments, so if that's your thing, you'll probably like it.

Adolescence shed a light on one aspect of a massive and very old problem, but did it offer any solutions?
