Andor really added another dimension to this movie... Cassian felt like the main character during this watch, and all we've learnt about him over two seasons of Andor made all his actions in this movie make sense. That entire submarine scene was literally my nightmare... I was so stressed the entire time.
Overall a fun movie, but I really don't enjoy the entity as the villain. I also have lots of questions...
Simon Pegg is absolutely fantastic in every role he plays though.
So I haven't seen any of the other final destination movies—Although some of the lore had been explained to me—but nothing could prepare me for how gruesome this was. It went from 0 to 100 so quickly.
After every death my girlfriend's dad was like "Heck yeah", which did undercut the tension.
I obviously need to go back and watch the past movies now so I can properly appreciate all the references.
Going into this with no idea what to expect, the first 10 minutes had me thinking it was going in a completely different direction.
This film is peak #feminism though.
Despite being quite comedic, it still managed to address some very serious (and still relevant) societal issues in the most American way possible.
