The final set action set pieces make up for a rough beginning, and Ana de Armas does show that the John Wick franchise can have compelling leads outside its title character. The weakest of the series but 1) the previous films set a high bar and 2) it’s still pretty entertaining.
It owns bones! (No seriously a Predator has a cape made out of spines and I said to myself “is this the greatest movie.”)
This is the Predator movie I think I had been dreaming of since I was a kid, even down to an Predator Ariel dogfight which I know I had in a Predator fan script back in the day.
I had the privilege of seeing this in theaters and I’m so bummed everyone won’t get to experience…
Doesn’t hit the same emotional high as the first one, but it is going for something much different and a bit more complex. Less “made me ball my eyes out” and more like “I really needed to hear that and I feel better”.
Love the touch of Anxiety being an antagonist but not “evil”, she has a purpose but becomes overwhelming which is both very funny when visualized but also very tragic.
The new emotions are all great characters. Just like Jessie and Bullseye in Toy Story 2 or Bonnie’s toys from Toy Story 3 I want to see more of them.
