A powerful and moving documentary shining a spot light on an aspect of the world and a community that I knew nothing about. It is a sneaky tearjerker. It’s slowly builds and eventually leads you to tears but the whole time you have a knot in your chest, that is just waiting to unleash.
I really enjoyed this film. Ryan Coogler is a true auteur and should never be underestimated. This film is the best Michael B. Jordan has ever been on screen. The ambiance, cinematography, production design and use of music all add to a really good film but a super successful r-rated, sexy, dark and unique horror film with a message and historical overtones.
