Daniel Pollock’s review published on Letterboxd:
Jeeeez I dunno about this one, fellas. Not funny enough for Funny Town, not scary enough for Scary Town, and as a comedy-horror, you'd hope it's one or the other. I found it incredibly frustrating, as there's clearly a fun romp with soul in here, but Oz Perkins seemed content just Final Destination-ing everyone, with each character death more throwaway than the last. Potential pivotal story moments that could give us some insight into the psychology of literally any player are usually just chewed up in favour of another irony-laden MCU-style "shadow joke" (my brand new patent pending term for when lines are uttered in the shape of a joke, designed in fact to remind you of a joke, but no joke actually exists. Keep an eye out. It's endemic). On top of this, the thing is shot and lit like a car commercial; zero taste I can abide, and in fact encourage, but zero style, well, that's unforgivable.
Big bonus: only went for like max 80mins.
