‘Look just like we are a married couple, spanning time’

One of my favourite sounds in the world is my family laughing. I especially love when we are laughing at people dying in hilariously vile ways. The Final Destination series has an oddly sentimental place in our home, and it was special to finally get to see one on the big screen together. It most certainly did not disappoint.
A major misfire. The rich, full, artistically rewarding life of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe was condensed down to this - an odd portrait of some truly morose man. He was a man who found constant inspiration through his art. He maintained long term relationships, both personal and artistically. Yet he is presented here as aloof, cold and often abrasive and cruel.
