It isn't often a film profoundly changes my life. This is one of them.

I've often heard of a film described as tender, and I'll be honest in saying I never truly got that. I understood tender moments, even a tender plot or characters, but an entire film? I was told when I studied film at uni I would never be able to see a film the same way again. I would be too analytical, I'd know why a director blocked a scene this way, or why a DoP shot that scene that way.…
