A tragic and devastating adaptation, that is often challenging to process. Generally speaking, the plot is well-paced and the writing is strong. Casting is truly outstanding - certainly a career best for Efron, whose performance is incredible. Directing by Durkin is clearly very strong. Cinematography compliments the plot very well. Erdély constructs some incredible shots and scenes throughout.
Poor Things is phenomenal. A brilliant and bizarre journey of self-discovery. Emma Stone has certainly reached new heights, in an incredibly unique and captivating performance. Cinematography by Robbie Ryan is simply extraordinary, with extreme camera framing being one of the film’s most memorable characteristics. Production design is consistently strong throughout. Absurdism in cinema has never looked so beautiful.
