The hell did I actually just watch? So many weird choices, and yet...
Ralph Fiennes carries what's gotta be like 85% of this film with his performance. Delightful. Everyone else does well, too.
The fact this story is nested from graveside mourner, to writer recollection, of a retold story from a hotel owner is pretty interesting. Convention says no nested flashbacks, but there are always exceptions.
