I can see that the director has a place of introspectiveness and loneliness based on her last film and this one. Loved the atmosphere and music. A few close up shots that gave scenes a real creepy factor. Nostalgic for me with the Nick at Night fun, too. Shout out Fred Durst!?
It's hard to categorize, it's part biopic/documentary/action/history film. The way the story was told with the past as animation really brought the story to life. I didn't know anything about the Angolan civil war and its place in the Cold War and so I appreciated that it was clear and concise in the framing of who was who.
