An homage, to the folk singer paid by Imtiaj Ali. Reminded me of Saadat Hasan Manto who was also pursued by the authorities for his writing being too obscene, which then Manto defended saying that it was the society that was obscene.
20 years later of Chamkila, here we were watching everyone swearing in every other movie. I hate the hypocrisy of the world.
Anyway I'm glad Diljit got to play the role since it being a Bollywood movie.
