Big Trucks + Big Boom = Big Cool

I'm into 70s pessimism (see: rewatching The Long Goodbye like at least 3 times in the past 6 months) and this hits that so hard.

The repetition of imagery (the bride with the black eye!!!) throughout is just magnificent. The type of thing I know I try to emulate in my fiction.

One of the most sphincter clenching tense films I have ever watched. Such a simple premise, but executed with masterful, old school filmmaking, including taking a good 30 minutes just to introduce each sorry sap, and then further making sure you know just how low they have fallen to be willing to participate in this suicide mission.
