For a movie actually shot in 3D, this was so flat. It looked post-converted, as there wasn’t the usual depth to faces that I love to see in 3D movies. So I watched the “shooting in 3D” featurette and immediately it looks like actual 3D. Weird, but then the director goes on the explain how much he loved tweaking the 3D and the depth of the images so apparently the flatness in the majority of the movie was by design. I can see why they didn’t bother to shoot the sequel in 3D. What’s the point when you just make it look flat in post?
