Rewatched this for my film course; still great. One of the most culturally significant and iconic films of the past 20+ years; as darkly hilarious and entertaining as always.

One of the best shot gangster films in a genre full of iconic imagery. Then again, it is De Palma.

Genuinely one of the best edited films we have, absolutely flies by. Top tier filmmaking, never gets old.

“You just shot an unarmed man!”

“He should have armed himself if he's gonna decorate his saloon with my friend.”

“If I disappear, like, who cares? Nobody cares, man. Seriously. Yo, and that's okay. That's life. That's life. No, for real. Okay? It just es. It just fucking... fucking es.”

From top to bottom, Sound of Metal treads a fine line between being devastatingly heartbreaking yet inspirational. An absolute triumph of a film that has what I consider one of the greatest endings put to screen. Riz Ahmed is one of the finest working actors we have currently, with such a difficult character he turns in an all timer performance. Definitely will become an all time favorite for me, can’t wait to rewatch asap!

So iconic for a reason, phenomenal screenplay, fantastic visuals, and one of cinemas greatest endings. Had to rewatch this for class and I loved it even more, it’s just the coolest!!

Got to watch this in class today and oh boyyy did I love it. A tragic tale of loss that has such a brilliant third act. It’s kind of easy to forget that Scorsese directed this, it feels so much unlike his previous work; if anything it just showcases his range so well.

A Beautiful Mind is an often dull, and visually uninteresting project. I don’t feel much towards this film negatively or positively, it’s just kind of there for me. Not sure how this is a best picture winner, but there are actually worse winners in that category (looking at YOU Green Book….)

Watched in class, and it's pretty boring and unremarkable, besides some good performances here there's really nothing for me to engage with. The action scenes are well-animated but I didn't really care about what I was watching. Overall just really meh.
