With hindsight, a very strange picture. It’s set in the 1990s, shot in late 2000, came out less than three months after 9/11, and plays like a glossier version of the jingoistic military programmers that ran on a loop on HBO in the late 1980s. With a story by the Predator guys, Jim and John Thomas, and starring early 2000s action hero ... Owen Wilson? At point, Gene Hackman screams “Our man is down behind enemy lines!”
