Well, the title is certainly accurate. Ultimately, I probably ired this more for what it is trying to be than what it actually is, especially in its second and third acts. (I have to it I was a little disappointed that the first chapter spent SO much time establishing this mythology only for the second and third parts to basically abandon it in favor of the personal story.) Still, making something this big and bold, and so silly and sincere all at once is no simple feat. And as a huge fan of Short Round and Data when I was a kid, I was delighted to see Ke Huy Quan back in a big, juicy role. He’s wonderful here; I hope this is the beginning of a long comeback.
