A slice-of-life movie at its best. From the first shot to the last. Absolutely phenomenal. Movie of the year so far. I’ve never cried so fast before. The tears just hit me out of no where during a certain scene towards the end. Painfully glorious. I love movies so much. Far out, this is phenomenal.

I knew what I was getting into. Typically, 150 minute court dramas with lots of dialogue are not my thing. But Anatomy of a Fall exceeded my expectations. It’s very well written with fantastic performances. It tells a grounded story while subtly satirising the courts and legal system. It held my attention for almost all of the runtime; an impressive feat for a film like this.

And what I quickly realized just a few…

Really not sure on this one yet. It feels like an allegory for Irish history that I'm at a loss to. I like how low-key the whole thing is but it's also ambiguous and directionless and demands a re-watch to fully grasp. It has a slow, mature feeling though that's been lacking in some other acclaimed movies this year.

Add this to the list of 2022 films that I've been underwhelmed by. We're almost 3 years into this damned decade…
