As many really good action movies suffer from, that of which prevents them from being great, is that the climax in the 3rd act, while still spectacular, can not measure up to its other astounding action set pieces. GHOST PROTOCOL is no exception. Although, and this is by no means a definitive statement but, I’m hard pressed to find a better sequence in the franchise than the 20 minute Dubai stretch. Sublime.

I wrapped my time at DIFF this year with a horror film that I honestly thought was going to be a cheesy slasher film, but if I’m being quite honest….this one was decent!
Based on a true story and an urban legend called “The Pill” in Detroit, I found The Black Spines to be pretty entertaining. It lost me a bit towards the end where I think it tries to take it to another…

There’s always some hit or miss films at festivals - this one wasn’t bad, but it just wasn’t that good either.
The Confession was pretty predictable and the pieces of the puzzle that it presented were actually somewhat interesting, but they just didn’t all quite fit. It has the horror element for sure and does a fine job for causal viewers, but for big time horror fans - this one is cake.
Was basically counting down for the credits to finally roll for this one.

Don’t be so shy, you’re fabulous…Could you smile?
Toxic was one of the late night watches I had while at DIFF and although I’m glad I stuck around, I would’ve enjoyed it better had it been an earlier showing.
This is a decent international film that uses some really good shots and stylistic choices throughout. I liked the different perspectives you get from the characters and seeing how they handle what is thrown…
they had the balls to make an australian lost highway…
Doesn’t grapple with the comic’s onstage genius and offstage assholery as well as The Amazing Johnathan Project or What’s Eating Ralphie May?
Funniest moment: When a dejected Gallagher coaxes a fan to buy a T-shirt instead of just express her iration while “Best Day of My Life” blares from a nearby speaker.

I liked the chemistry between the mom and son and there where a couple of fun ing characters. I wish it was scarier and more interesting.
This obsurd fever dream will not work for everyone. I was delighted from start to finish and can't wait to watch it again.
A story that I was really struggling with until the very end until we got a further explanation of the "why". Really good performances and some pretty devastating moments.
Can you make a boring documentary about one of the most interesting films and film productions? The answer is yes!
As charming as it is cliché. But my god is it charming! A must-see for anyone who loved “the good old days” of Austin.
