I went to Mass at the Vatican yesterday, presided over by Pope Leo XIV. I feel closer to whatever God there is after watching this 105-minute meditation on life, the universe and everything than I did in that sectarian Disneyland, among thousands of people with hands outstretched toward the Holy Father, just outside a Basilica full of glorious artwork and architecture and also offertories with credit card readers attached.
