I’d never heard of this before today. What a lovely little hidden gem! Predictable at points and heavily influenced by other holiday films but such a fun and heartwarming watch. I wish it had been longer!

I'm late to Gilmore Girls which is fair enough to be honest, I was 6 when it first started airing but I've really enjoyed my recent binge. The show was frustrating at times as it made some really ridiculous choices in order to keep the "will they, wont they?" storylines going. Rory became increasingly dislikable from season to season but I never stopped rooting for Lorelai and overall loved the show.

Am I supposed to care about whether John and Sara get a happy ending? They're both selfish, deceitful and full of disrespect for their significant others. I care more about how everything turned out for Halley and Lars to be honest.

But seriously all this heartache because some idiot woman wouldn't just write her number down like a normal person??? I don't often get mad at movie characters because (obviously) they're not real but I hate when a director tells us we're supposed to like nasty people - characters who carelessly hurt people don't deserve happy endings! I can understand why people don't like this film especially due to the quite silly and under-developed concept of a soulmate countdown device. For me though it was a beautiful look into societies obsession with "the one" and all the problems that arise from falling for the "wrong ones" along the way.
