Sinners is perhaps the film that best fits that saying: “they don’t make them like this anymore.” A film that knows exactly what it wants and achieves it to perfection with no compromises. Off the back of reinvigorating Rocky alongside Michael B. Jordan with Creed and offering up two of the best entries in the MCU, Ryan Coogler is a director at the top of his game right now and truly comes out swinging, literally guns blazing and teeth bared.

I guess I’ll just echo what I thought before, especially that stunning and loud throwback score. Too long and probably a whole lot more dumb than it presents itself as, but I still dig it.
The film noir and detective/crime thriller aspects of this alone make it my favourite live-action Batman movie. Matt Reeves' Gotham City makes Christopher Nolan's look positively charming!
