A riotous, borderline absurdist and wickedly funny collection of six short films that are linked via the theme of revenge.

This is so much fun and honestly one of the best anthology films I think I’ve seen. Like any anthology, there are some sections that work better than others but it was only La propuesta that didn’t really do it for me.

The rest are superb, with El más fuerte (think Spielberg’s Duel) and Bombita (think Schumacher’s Falling Down) being my personal…

Sinners is perhaps the film that best fits that saying: “they don’t make them like this anymore.” A film that knows exactly what it wants and achieves it to perfection with no compromises. I guess I’ll just echo what I thought before, especially that stunning and loud throwback score. Too long and probably a whole lot more dumb than it presents itself as, but I still dig it.

One of my absolute teenage comfort movies, so it was a bit daunting showing it to Lauren for the first time but she seemed to enjoy it!! Phew!

The film noir and detective/crime thriller aspects of this alone make it my favourite live-action Batman movie. Matt Reeves' Gotham City makes Christopher Nolan's look positively charming!

Deliberately and perfectly paced, I didn't feel the length of this at all; it flew by and I loved every minute.

This is the film Joker wanted to be. It could never!

I very nearly didn't bother seeing this. Not because I didn't want to but because I spent a good 30 minutes fighting Exeter traffic and every time I found a good parking spot it turned out that because Exeter is stuck in the middle ages, none of the pay and display machines accepted card. The d start time came and went, the trailers were about to end and after a really shitty week in the world of Nick, the lowest…
