Why aren’t more people talking about this masterpiece? This is easily one of the best post-apocalyptic, low-budget, martial arts films I have seen. Also serves as one of the best Terminator rip-offs to boot

The only real setback is that the main villain is not very entertaining, nor very intimidating. He also can’t do martial arts if his life depended on it. Which is why they just give him an Uzi for most of the runtime.

It is such a slog. Absolutely nothing happens in this. The worst Christopher Walken film I have seen.
The sound design is not just cheap, it is not just a slobby Goodwill find – it is what the useless intern concocts haphazardly in an hour.
The acting is stale, the plot is nonexistent and the pacing is deplorable.

Do not watch this film!

This movie can’t pick a tone.
It is trying to be funny but fails miserably.
It tried to be cool, but I can’t exactly say that it succeeded with that.

The editing is off – REALLY OFF. The pacing is off. The acting… well, I have seen many of them in other movies where they are better.

A charming, Stalinist film about happy peasants bringing in the harvest and having a harvest festival, because their harvest was so bountiful. Oh, and there is a couple in love as well.

The film has one of the most famous Soviet opening scenes, with the men and the women singing a song about the lovely harvest.

If you can ignore the fact that the movie was made during one of the last famines in Soviet (and Russian) history, the film has some charming qualities. At least as a kitch film.
