The unofficial Chazelle Obsession Trilogy is one for the record books. Whiplash and La La Land are my 3rd and 4th favorite films of all time, and I can't believe I've taken so long to continue through Damien Chazelle's filmography. The only thing that has sent my brain scrambling MORE than watching Babylon has been trying to think of what I'm going to say ABOUT Babylon.

I want to say that this film isn't perfect. But it would be a…

Haven't seen this in over a year, so I wanted to revisit. Didn't that Bob Dylan is at the end, this would actually make for a great double feature with A Complete Unknown.

I liked this a lot more on rewatch. The Coen Brothers are amazing directors, I didn't really appreciate just how good the script was the first time around.

The best performance I've seen from Oscar Issac so far, he's pretty incredible. Definitely my favorite Coen Brothers film.

Had to run it back tonight. Haven't really been able to get Cure out of my head.

After further analyzation, yeah it's a fucking masterpiece. For those of you who haven't seen this, it's kinda just Se7en but better. Kinda. Not really, but kinda.

The theme song came on while I was driving home from work today, and I immediately thought,

"Yeah I gotta watch that when I get home."

Going to start marking off some more of Park Chan Wook's filmograpy soon. But it's Oldboy, man. Maybe I'll just watch this 10 more times before getting to the rest.

The other film I'm watching tonight is a big one.... My most anticipated Japanese film.

This is probably the scariest non-horror film I've ever seen.

Watching Oldboy and Cure back to back has to make for the most horrifying non-horror film double feature you could possibly watch. How to people execute their ideas this well on screen?

I love Good Will Hunting endlessly, but I just found the best film of 1997.
