You’ll see a lot of high ratings bc I watch good things.

Was really curious about this since I LOVE the original. I didn’t see much of a point in this remake since the original was from 2022 and in English already. But James McCavoy gave me hope. I don’t think the sense of bleakness and dread comes across the same but I think this is an incredibly well done remake that both stays true to the original in some aspects and strays in others. Biggest complaint is flipping the ending. Sick of American remakes doing that.
Absolutely incredible and unique take on a revenge/battle movie. I never would have expected a premise like this to have so many experimental and artistic deviation to it. And on top of that, absolutely BRUUUUUUTAL kills and fight scenes. Robert Eggers is continuing to prove himself as one of the most solid and unique creators out there.
My only critique was that at times it was difficult to track the development of specific relationships between characters, but doesn’t really take anything away from the experience. A total powerhouse of a film.
