Gorgeous technicolor production. Taylor is very cute as Velvet the young girl who gets to ride Pie in the big race. Anne Revere (who won the Oscar) and Donald Crisp are great as her parents. Exciting steeplechase race at the end.

Yes, it’s a little too long, with lots of explanations, and the previous few films are better, but so what. As I sat there eating my popcorn I was very thankful for this franchise and the entertainment it has given me at the theater. Cruise, for all his personal foibles, has been the centerpiece of some great MI films, which I’ve viewed numerous times.
