Ok so Chris O'Dowd was the only one who got the memo here... the only good character and he fucking explodes...
I was actually suprised by the average rating on here, I didn't think it was THAT bad. In comparison to the rest of the trilogy (which is a unusual trilogy as each film is almost a completely different genre) it is considerably weaker in performances, storyline, and level of horror or thrill. It is clearly the most sci-fi of the three, and that is maybe why it is the least liked. Cloverfield films are the kind of films I watch for thrill and not so much high and sophisticated sci-fi. But this film had its moments certainly- body horror, an apocalyptic narrative, a multiverse dive, and a brief explanation for the cause of the last two films. Did this let the trilogy down? In my opinion, no. The other two were just hard to beat.
