Always down for a bad trip

As a young teenager I found it disturbing and scary. Rewatched it now as an adult and found it mostly depressing. A mad scientist that wants to play for God eventually ends up losing everything he loves, if it all went well he would’ve become a legend with his technology. It’s depressing to see how he can do NOTHING to save himself. In this horrormovie he isn’t running away from a killer or trying to fight him. It’s dark and…
‘’Creator, if you exist, blow us away. Blow us away like dust or pus. Or leave us in our rot. Destroy us all.’’
Masterpiece. As if a hellish painting of Jheronimus Bosch comes alive. Never have I ever been more sucked into a world this disgusting, gloomy and pessimistic. A world that won’t progress, where intellectuals are being punished, people can barely speak proper and where morals don’t exist.

Messy, boring, and silly movie. The way certain characters are portrayed in Mickey 17 is downright bad, almost childish, which also makes the humor of the film doesn't come through effectively. The film has a lot of ideas, but they are only moderately developed, and especially the satirical aspect is neither sharp nor funny enough. It was a misplaced expectation on my part, but given the concept of dying and coming back repeatedly, I was hoping for more psychological depth. Well, with the over 2-hour runtime, I found it difficult to keep my attention focused.
For sure the best piece of music Burial has made so far, it's truly intense and goes hard af. As for the film itself, it's amazing how Harmony Korine continues to experiment. The concept along with the look and feel is great, but at times it feels a bit repetitive, and I think it could have been even more silly/edgy in some moments. In that sense, I found Aggro Dr1ft to be a more successful experiment.
‘’Youth is beauty. Beauty is not youth."
A Japanese gem filled with colorful aesthetics and narcissism. The colors, the settings, the lighting, the contrasts, the banging soundtrack, the make up, all the details, its absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful and extravagant movies I’ve ever seen.
A rise and fall story of a artist set in the fashion and pop culture of Japan. Maybe not the most original plot but the amazing acting by Erika Sawajiri as the unsympathetic,…
