The Smiling Lieutenant

1931

★★★

One one hand, I'm almost impressed by Ernst Lubitsch's dedication to writing love triangles where all of them just want to be in a threesome into every movie. On the other hand, why the fuck were these girls so in love with Maurice Chevalier?

The music was also kind of annoying except for Jazz Up Your Lingerie, which was fun. And notably the only song in which Hopkins and Colbert were together and Chevalier was not there.
