Never Fear (dir. Ida Lupino, 1950)
I had no idea what this was about before I watched it, and I vaguely expected a film noir based on the poster. Turns out it’s a melodrama about a dancer who contracts polio, and it’s a very interesting snapshot what that was like before the Salk vaccine. I was especially fascinated by the scene where the rehab patients all do a wheelchair square dance.
